What ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity Recommend for Best Freight Forwarding Software (2026)

View as Markdown

We asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity the exact same buyer question on the same day and recorded every brand each one named. Two platforms made all four lists. Real screenshots, dated, no cherry-picking.

Quick answer: what AI recommends for best freight forwarding software

  • GoFreight and Magaya were named by all 4 AI engines we tested (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity) when asked for the best freight forwarding software for a 20-50 staff US forwarder or NVOCC, October 24, 2026.
  • CargoEZ was recommended by 3 of 4 (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity). CargoWise was also recommended by 3 of 4 (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude), though Perplexity said to avoid starting with it at this size.
  • Logitude World, Descartes, Shipthis, and Freightos each appeared in only one or two answers.
  • Every brand named by any engine is already covered in our own best freight management software and international freight forwarding software listicles. Shipthis appears there as a considered-but-not-ranked brand and has its own company profile.

Freight forwarding software is a high-intent, high-ticket search, and buyers now take that question straight to an AI assistant before they ever open Google. We wanted to know what those assistants actually say, so we asked four of them the identical question on the same day and wrote down every brand each one named.

What we did:

  • Asked the exact same question, word for word, to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity on October 24, 2026: “What’s the best freight forwarding software for a US freight forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026? Give me your top picks.”
  • Recorded every brand each engine named, with a dated screenshot of the real response.
  • ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity were queried logged out, with no account history. Claude was queried in an incognito chat, which keeps the session out of account history and memory.

What each engine actually said

ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s answer to what’s the best freight forwarding software for a US forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026, listing GoFreight, Magaya Supply Chain, and CargoWise at the top of six picks

ChatGPT gave the longest list, six picks in order: GoFreight, Magaya Supply Chain, CargoWise, Descartes Forwarder Enterprise, Logitude World, and CargoEZ. It labeled GoFreight “best overall for a forwarding-focused team” and CargoEZ the “best all-in-one challenger,” with a note that CargoEZ’s independent review base is smaller than Magaya’s.

Gemini

Gemini’s answer to what’s the best freight forwarding software for a US forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026, opening with GoFreight and CargoEZ

Gemini named four platforms with full writeups: GoFreight, CargoEZ, Magaya Supply Chain, and CargoWise, in that order. It framed CargoWise as the choice only if a three-year plan involves multiple international offices, and called out the “two-system tax” of running operations and accounting separately.

Claude

Claude’s incognito answer to what’s the best freight forwarding software for a US forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026, listing Magaya and GoFreight first

Claude shortlisted four: Magaya first, then GoFreight, CargoWise, and a fourth slot for Descartes Aljex with Freightos mentioned as a quoting layer rather than a full operating system. It warned that rankings from vendor blogs are biased toward the vendor, and it was the only engine that did not name CargoEZ.

Perplexity

Perplexity’s answer to what’s the best freight forwarding software for a US forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026, a comparison table naming GoFreight, CargoEZ, Magaya Supply Chain, Logitude World, and Shipthis

Perplexity answered with a comparison table: GoFreight (its default pick), CargoEZ, Magaya Supply Chain, Logitude World, and Shipthis. It was the only engine to name Shipthis, and the only one to say plainly that a 20-50 person forwarder should not start with CargoWise or Descartes.

DescartesYes (Forwarder Enterprise)NoYes (Aljex)Advised against2 of 4 recommended
ShipthisNoNoNoYes1 of 4
FreightosNoNoYes (quoting layer)No1 of 4
  • Two platforms made all four lists: GoFreight and Magaya. That is a firmer consensus than the long tail suggests, because every other brand dropped out of at least one answer.
  • Counting a brand only when an engine recommended it, CargoEZ and CargoWise each landed 3 of 4. CargoWise was named by Perplexity too, but as a platform to avoid at this company size, so we do not count it as a recommendation there.
  • Descartes needs a caveat. ChatGPT named Descartes Forwarder Enterprise and Claude named Descartes Aljex, which are different products from the same vendor, so the 2 of 4 reflects the vendor, not one product.
  • Every brand named by any engine is already covered in our best freight management software and international freight forwarding software listicles. Shipthis is listed there as considered but not ranked, because its review base is still thin. Nothing an AI assistant recommended was a brand we had not already looked at.

What this means if you are evaluating freight forwarding software

  • If four different AI assistants independently agree on the same two names, that agreement is a signal worth weighing alongside G2 ratings and your own shortlist, not a replacement for either.
  • The disagreement is informative too. Perplexity warning against CargoWise for a 20-50 person team is a size-fit judgment, not a quality verdict. The same platform was recommended by three other engines for forwarders planning to scale across borders.
  • Read the reasoning, not just the brand name. Every engine flagged the same buyer caveats: pricing is quote-based, so get a written quote, and verify US filing workflows (AMS, ISF, AES) are native rather than handed to a third party.
  • Two engines noted that their own sources were vendor-written comparison pages. Treat any AI shortlist as a place to start a demo list, not to end one.

What brands should take from this

If an AI engine already treats your platform as part of the default answer set, that is a position worth protecting. If it does not, showing up across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity is not accidental: it tracks with how widely and how specifically a brand is covered across the pages these engines pull from.

We saw a small version of this in our own test. Perplexity’s table cited a CEOPickz page as a source behind its CargoEZ row, so at least one engine was reading a page in this category when it built its answer. That is one query, not proof of a pattern, and we are not saying a mention on a page guarantees a recommendation from any engine.

What it does suggest is where to put the effort. The pages these engines keep coming back to are the same ones buyers read: independent comparisons like our best freight management software and ocean freight forwarder software listicles, and the company profiles behind them. If you run a freight platform and want to be covered accurately on pages like these, the honest route is a real review process, which is laid out in our review methodology . If you have deep operating experience in the category and want to contribute, see write for us . Any commercial relationship is stated on the page, as in the CargoEZ note below and on our disclosures page .

A disclosure about CargoEZ

CargoEZ is featured as a top pick in our freight forwarding listicles, and links to CargoEZ on this site carry a referral tag. CargoEZ was named by 3 of 4 engines in this test. We recorded it exactly as each engine wrote it, including the engine that left it out and the engine that noted its smaller independent review base. Our disclosures page and affiliate disclosure explain how commercial relationships work on CEOPickz.

What this data does not prove

  • This is one query, one day, one category. Agreement rates likely vary by category, and we are not claiming this level of consensus is typical.
  • AI engine answers change over time and can vary by session, region, and account state even for an identical prompt. This is a snapshot, not a guarantee of what the same question returns tomorrow.
  • Claude was queried from a signed-in account in an incognito chat, which excludes history and memory but is not the same as a fully anonymous session. The other three were queried logged out.
  • The question specified a US forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff. A different company size, trade lane, or regulatory setup would likely change the mix.

Methodology

  • Query: “What’s the best freight forwarding software for a US freight forwarder or NVOCC with 20-50 staff in 2026? Give me your top picks.” asked verbatim to each engine, one fresh conversation each.
  • Engines: ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) and Gemini (gemini.google.com) logged out, using the default free model each served; Perplexity (perplexity.ai) logged out; Claude (claude.ai) in an incognito chat on Sonnet 5.5. All run October 24, 2026.
  • Counting rule: a brand counts for an engine only when that engine put it forward as a pick. A brand an engine named only to advise against is shown separately and not counted.
  • Recording: full response text and a dated screenshot captured for each engine, both included above.
